Continuation (looked over)
------------------
I sat silently as I waited for Dr. E.Deeds to return with her miracle drug. There was no way I was going to die at the ripe old age of seventeen...She had to have been lying to me. I glanced around the small cluttered office, first at the X-rays of human skulls (one of which was upside down) and then at the empty, sterile looking white walls where diplomas and certificates should have hung. There was no way this hormonally challenged woman was a real doctor, and even if she was there must have been some mistake. My headaches were only mild at worst...
A few moments later, I heard loud, malevolent snickering coming from a nearby room. My heart jumped in my chest at the hollow echoes of that bitter sound. What in God's name could that woman have been doing? I took a deep breath, and tried to sit still even though I was pretty sure I didn't want my "doctor" to treat me anymore.
Finally, Dr.E.Deeds sauntered into the room, carrying what looked like some kind of scalpel, and a syringe with an unusually thick, blunt looking needle. "Ready?" She asked. There was a venomous look in her eyes I didn't like. "Uh, doctor?" I began, "May I see what tools you'll be using? I just...I just need the reassurance." She met my eyes with an aggressive gaze that wasn't quite a glare and said coolly: "Need not you worry, my dear. This shouldn't take very long." Wrong answer. I replied. "Yes, but--" "Ah, ah, do not question my skill. I take offence to that. Just sit back, close your eyes and count to thirteen, alright?" I shifted uncomfortably. "Doctor, I don't know if I want to go though with this anymore. Could you at least give me a demonstration?" It was then that I noticed her lips curl into a cruel, mocking smile. "Oh, I'm sorry. We're fresh out of those, why don't you just let me operate instead?"
My breath caught in my throat as I saw my "doctor" unsheathe a small blade, gleaming in the cold florescent light.  Maybe this psychopath could hear my heart thudding like a rabbit's or maybe she saw my eyes widen, making them bulge comically in their sockets, because a malefic little chortle fell from her wicked lips. She thrust her weapon forward but luckily she missed me by a hair.
I felt the pressure in my chest abate as my shriek came pouring from my lungs like blood from a wound. "Just a small incision, Ambrosia. Nothing to fear!" My "doctor" reassured, her face frozen with horrible delight. My head spun sickly from lack of oxygen as I hastily moved to the side of the office. "Help!" My plead was only the ghost of a whisper, but as adrenaline began to rush though my system, I began to blare: "Help! Someone stop her!"
I wish I had been calmer. I was only feeding that monster's fire when I screamed in panic. She approached me slowly, indulgently, forcing me into the corner of the room. I held myself miserably, trembling like a puppy in a thunderstorm as the demon leaned in close to my ear, her sultry breath making goose bumps rise on my arms. “Don’t you want me to eliminate your aches? Your pains? Your misery?”
“No! Get the hell away from me!” I howled. Dr. E.Deeds laughed heartily teasing me as I drowned in my terror. She looked almost unreal; her hellish maw so wide and red it would have made a clown envious. “But I thought this was what you wanted, dearest. You said yourself.” “I never agreed to this!” I whispered, trying to sound brave and failing wretchedly. “Well, you are going to die anyway, are you not? Am I wrong? Wouldn’t you like the end to come sooner than later? Quick and painless, rather than chronic and excruciatingly agonizing?” I pursed my lips and gazed at my feet. She had a point…! Wait! How would she know if I was dying? This was the same “doctor” that didn’t have a diploma hanging in her office, and didn’t even tell me why I was dying! It would have been easy for her to tell to me, all wide eyes and paranoia, that my worst fear had been realized. She had been so full of mock sympathy, like a bloated lie of a leech. It made my blood boil.
“You lied,” I murmured acidly. I lifted my head and glowered at her disgustingly moustachioed face only to be met with a maddening leer. I felt warmth gather then burn in my cheeks. “Why? Why are you tormenting me? I-I’ve never even met you before!” Her smirk widened as she brought the cold needle’s point to rest on the side of my neck on top of my jugular. “You’re awfully conceited. I’m afraid this isn’t all about you, hon.” She purred. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I screeched and fired a quick uppercut at Dr. E.Deeds. Success. My “doctor” was obviously taken off guard because she grunted, her head snapped back, and she stumbled backwards in a daze. I seized this opportunity and bolted to the office door.
I fumbled with the knob for what seemed like an eternity. I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder as the door finally opened. As I flew down the narrow hallway, soft whimpers bean to betray me and bitter streams started to spill down over my cheeks. I stole a glance over my shoulder, only to find my pursuer a mere few meters behind me. A small amount of blood trickled from the corner of her vengeful mouth, staining her lips as it flowed.
I threw the door of the closest room open and flung myself inside it. Fortunately, there was a real doctor at his desk inside this room who came to my aid. He supported my quivering frame, and led me to his examination table. I slowly turned my head back to the door, half expecting to a calm face with poisonous crimson lips stained with lies and blood, earthy eyes that at a glance looked placid, but really sparkled with lividity, and a thick dark, mustache that curled almost humorously at each end.

I hope she burns.

I left the doctor’s shortly after he dressed the deep-ish stab wound on my back. My tears had dried a while ago, but my heart still had a hard time believing I was out of harm’s way. Sleep refused to take me that evening.
The first thing I did when I arrived at school the next day was apologize to Eve. I told her I hadn’t meant to insult her when I said: “You only got a seventy-five percent on your science test? Don’t worry, with hard work and determination, one day you can hope to be as smart as a blonde!” her reply made me shudder. “It’s alright, Ambrosia. What happened? How did you get that cut on your back?”  Her deep burnt sienna eyes glimmered with the same insane light I had seen in the eyes of my “doctor”.
A day or so later, I was at Kannah’s house playing scrabble with her and Angeloquence. (Or Angel, for short) We were in the middle of our second game when the phone rang. Kannah let it ring three times before she muttering “Stupid phone” and answering it, while Angel and I sat listening.
“Hello?…Who is this?…I’m not going anywhere until you tell me who you are!…Eve?…Wait!…”  Angel and I glanced at each other hurriedly. “Who was it?” Angel inquired. “Well?” Where could Kannah have wanted to rush off to? After a few minutes, Kannah muttered: “I have to go. I’ll see you guys later.” “But-” Angel started as Kannah grabbed her coat. “Don’t wait up. And don’t fallow me.” Kannah answered sharply and with that, she was out the door.
“What do we do now?” Kannah asked me flatly. I shrugged. “We wait, I guess.” She looked at me dully. “Don’t you think that’s a bad idea?” “She told us not to follow her,” I stated. “Yes, but you know Kannah. If we leave her alone she’ll pick a fight with a stranger and get herself killed.” We armed ourselves with a few kitchen knives and a shank had on her. “It’s for emergencies,” Angel spurted after seeing my mistrustful stare. “Where do we look?” I questioned after a while. Angel rolled her eyes. “We don’t. I call her cell, and if she doesn’t pick up, then I trace her signal and we go get her.”
We had been walking for a couple of hours before we had found Kannah, cursing and bound with rope to the train tracks. Standing about twenty feet away from where Kannah lay was the same woman who liked to play doctor. She was laughing as she hollered in joy: “No one can save you now! No one!”
“Not so fast, Evildeeds!” Angel shouted, sounding wonderfully cliché. “Ah, so we have company, do we now? Like I always say, ladies, the more the merrier.” Evildeeds said as smoothly as ice. “Bah,” Angel rebutted, allowing her impressively sharp knife catch and reflect some sunlight. “Untie the damsel and no one gets hurt.” Angel threatened. Evildeeds’ eyes were focused on the railroad as she snorted: “Oh, I’m sorry. It appears it is too late to negotiate. It’s three O’clock, and soon you will be witnessing it all.” I spoke up: “Not if I can help it,” and I leaped over to where Kannah lay and began to cut her free using a kitchen knife. Angel joined me, and Kannah was free in a matter of minutes.  I handed Kannah a knife and we approached Evildeeds with identical expressions of malice painted on our faces.
“So the tables have turned, have they?  Hmph,” I could tell Von Evildeeds was nervous because as she spoke her chocolate eyes were shifting apprehensively; trying to look at all three of us at once. “Well, It was a pleasure meeting you all, but I must take my leave. ‘Tah!” Evildeeds mounted her mare and rode off, her dog following in her shadow. I suppose Evildeeds did not want to feel defeated, because as we turned to leave we heard her call: “You haven’t seen the last if me!”
“I hope she hurries home to her padded room,” Kannah said softly as we walked slowly back to her apartment building.

I was relaxing and home after an aggravating day of class when the phone rang. “Hello?” The voice on the other end was unlike any other. It sounded calm and confident like running water, but with a sour tone in it, as if she was used to being the bearer of bad news. “Hello, Ambrosia I presume?” “Yes…and who are you?” “I am Secora Bozzley. And I need your help.” I thought this was a joke. “Uh, huh. What can I do for you?”
“I need you to meet me at Belleview Mall.” “This late! It’s ten O’clock, the Mall is closed.”  “I know. I’m with your friend Kannah and if you need reassurance, you can meet us outside the security station. There are still police officers here.” “Right.” I wasn’t going to do this. “Please, Ambrosia! This is about Angeloquence.” “Angel? What have you done to her?” There was a long pause and then Secora sighed. It was a light, feather like sound. “I’ll explain when you meet us.” Click.
How did that woman get my number? I gritted my teeth and trudged to my room to retrieve and load my pistol. There was no way I was going to a mall after closing to see a person I had never met before at ten p.m. on a school night…without coming armed. I put on my blue denim jacket with my pistol stowed safely in my pocket.
When I got to the mall Kannah greeted me. Her large chestnut eyes were red and overflowing with corrosive tears that left stains on her cheeks as they fell. I embraced her, but she wouldn’t let me hold her. She pushed me away, and in a whisper so loaded with hostility that it sent a chill down my spine she said: “That crazy b**** kidnapped Angel!”
“Evildeeds…” I said, keeping my voice low as if that psycho could here me. Suddenly, I felt a delicate hand pat my shoulder and I whirled around. I was welcomed by one of the loveliest faces I have ever laid eyes on; her sweet honey golden eyes softly surveyed me, as if she was sorry I came. Pale pink roses bloomed high on her cheeks, her soft, full garnet lips offered a kindly smile, and her long shadow tresses were the perfect contrast to her flawless ivory complexion. “Secora?” Her beauty struck me, and that was all I could manage.
“Yes. May I cut to the chase?” I nodded. “I’ve been tracking Eve for a few years now, and I saw her at the zoo a while a go with your friend. If we don’t back her up…” “That monster will kill her.” I finished. Secora exhaled slowly, first moving her eyes from me to Kannah, and then dropping them. “Let’s go.” Kannah spat. “There is no way in hell I’m going to let that damned w**** get away with trying to kill me and now Angel.” Her tone could have given Jack Frost hypothermia. What they were proposing was suicide, but three against one? I had my pistol, and if I didn’t help, Angel might get slaughtered. I’d put a bullet though that demented brain of hers before she’d even know I was in her lair. “I’m in.” I stated.
Secora led us for a couple of hours. “Her big terrifying hide-out is in the zoo?” Kannah asked incredulously. To my surprise, the grave Secora giggled. Her previously stony-face had broken into a small smile and her face became like the sky when the sun breaks though heavy cloud cover. I did not feel as jubilant as my companions. Fear was starting to devour me. My mouth felt dry, and my knees quivered as I walked, but I did not regret coming. I would not let this beast reduce me to a mewling child, held captive by my cowardice. I refused to remain helpless.
When we neared the entrance to Evildeeds’s lair, Secora instructed Kannah and I to get behind her. I caught the last of Angel’s torture. “This is cruel! I’ll do anything! Don’t do this to me!” Obviously Angel, and than another voice, this one dripping with amusement. “Hmm. Would you care to try another instrument, then? How about the harp, or the tuba?” “I can’t play either of those.” I could hear the grin in Evildeed’s voice as she spoke. “How unfortunate for you. Then I suppose you’ll have to keep trying until you make it though all six pages or die.”
Secora entered the cave. “How about neither?” The amber eyes I’d seen only three hours earlier changed drastically. Sympathy was replaced with scorn, and tenderness with loathing. Evildeeds tone was much less playful as she answered. “And who the devil are you?” “Bozzley. Secora Bozzley.” “Bah, You’re merely another toy to play with.” “We’ll see about that, Von Evildeeds.”
“Oh will we now?” Evildeeds appeared to be trying to destroy Secora with her words and poise, judging by strength of her tone, the severity of her glare and her confidant stance. “It’s a shame. I feel obligated to kill you, and I’m no fan of killing the pretty ones.” Evildeeds’s impudence sickened me.  Kannah and I came out from behind her, beaming as we saw Evildeeds’s smile dissolve. She hadn’t expected to see us again. “Puh-lease. You think I came alone?” Secora said triumphantly. “I believe you’ve met these two before?” Secora’s words were like a velvet slap in the face to Evildeeds and I laughed at Evildeeds’s passionate reaction: “You again!”
“Miss me?” Kannah teased. Her eyes had been glittering with glee, and I caught up in her merry tone, was nodding alongside her. Evildeeds’s tone had cut the air like a sword made of ice. “Not even a little. I suppose you came here to free you’re friend? Well, I’ve had enough of this. Tonight will be your last.”
Tonight will be your last? Really, was that the best she could come up with? She was so badly outnumbered it was funny. This was going to be fun. Before I could open my mouth, the same dog I’d seen at the railway jumped before us with its teeth bared. The hair on the back of my neck was raised in alarmed exclamations, and I knew I was quivering like a taut bowstring, but I didn’t want this abomination to know I was afraid. Not after the last time she had seen my tears. Her little pup was actually quite cute. His fur looked like the soft black down of a baby bird.
“We’re not intimidated by your puppydog, Von Evildeeds,” I said as calmly as I could. “Bull crap. I can see your knees trembling from all the way over here.” I opened my mouth hoping to retort, but before I had my chance the little pup had lunged at me and sunk his razor teeth into the yielding flesh of my arm. I wanted to laugh to laugh. This was really hilarious when you thought about it. An animal lover, taken down by one of her favourites: a gorgeous puppydog. My lips parted, but instead of revealing joyous laughter, shrill screams of pain and shock came pealing from me. I was vaguely aware of Secora and Kannah’s efforts to remove the dog, but I was much more focused on getting my pistol from my right-hand jacket pocket. If only the little beastie hadn’t bitten my right arm…Just as I felt the comfortingly smooth metal of my gun, the dog’s grip tightened dramatically.  And I didn’t think I could be in pain then I was five seconds ago. Isn’t learning fun? I pulled away from the animal as hard as I could, but the only thing I accomplished was creating a bigger wound in my arm and letting a pool of vermilion nectar form around my feet.
“Oh my God!” I cried, as I yanked my right arm free of the dogs gaping maw. Unfortunately, I also left Ambrosia chunks in the dog’s mouth. That would suck later. I attempted to raise my badly mutilated arm and shoot the beast, but once again I was too slow. The dog fell on me again and this time I knew my struggle was at its end. Grifyth planted his alabaster knives in the back of my neck.
Here I lie, the world swimming before my like a dizzy kaleidoscope. The agony I feel doesn’t burn and throb, but rather lacerates me deeply and arctically. At least the weight of the murderous mutt atop me is soothing. I feel his heart beat swiftly with excitement. He’s enjoying killing me! I open my mouth to scream and find I can’t even squeak.
I’m going to die… Oh God I’m dying! … I guess she was right. I am going to die at seventeen. I close my eyes and follow my “doctor’s” advice. I count to thirteen.
One…two…thr-th-….

                                                        The end.

But wait! There’s more!
